Betway Africa is proud to announce its official partnership with Simba Sports Club

Tanzanian football powerhouse Simba SC has secured a three-year sponsorship deal worth 20 billion Tanzanian Shillings with international gaming company Betway. This agreement officially names Betway as the club’s main sponsor.

The announcement was made yesterday in Dar es Salaam by Simba’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zubeda Sakuru, who hailed the partnership as a transformative milestone for both the club and Tanzanian football. This landmark deal comes after Simba’s recent split with former main sponsor M-Bet, which had a five-year contract valued at 26.1 billion Tanzanian Shillings signed in 2023.

“This partnership will revolutionize football in Tanzania and reinforce Simba’s ambition to become Africa’s number one club,” Sakuru declared. “The 20 billion investments over three years underscores our unwavering commitment to excellence on the continent.”

Elevating the Club’s Brand

Simba Board member Salim Abdallah, also known as “Try Again,” emphasized the critical role this sponsorship will play in enhancing the club’s brand. He urged fans to embrace Betway as their new partner: “Football is an expensive sport, and funding is key. We call on our passionate supporters to stand behind Betway, our official sponsor, as we aim higher.”

Betway Tanzania’s Operations Manager, Jimmy Masaoe, shared this enthusiasm, promising top-tier engagement and service for Simba fans. “Betway is a global brand ready to serve Simba’s loyal supporters with 24/7 customer care and innovative betting experiences tailored for the club’s fanbase,” Masaoe added.

Long-Term Vision

Betway Africa’s Head of Sponsorship, Jason Shield, revealed that the company had been tracking Simba’s rise for nearly six years before formalizing the deal. “Simba is one of Africa’s most iconic clubs. We have watched their journey closely and are thrilled to now partner with them officially,” Shield said.

Support from TFF

The First Vice-President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Athuman Nyamlani, congratulated Simba SC on securing what he described as a “mutually beneficial agreement.” He noted, “This is the kind of partnership that TFF encourages, built on transparency and trust. If managed prudently, these 20 billion deals could pave the way for even larger sponsorships in the future.”

Conclusion

This landmark sponsorship deal marks a new chapter for Simba SC and has the potential to reshape the commercial landscape of East African football. As the club aims to reach new heights on the continent, Betway’s backing offers both financial strength and global visibility.
