The FIFA Integrity Task Force has concluded its operations for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, confirming that it found no suspicious betting activity or evidence of match manipulation across all 104 matches played during the tournament.
The task force, established to protect the integrity of FIFA competitions, monitored global betting markets and on-field activity in real time throughout the World Cup. Following a comprehensive review of intelligence gathered during the competition, FIFA said no fixture showed signs of betting-related corruption or match-fixing.
Throughout the tournament, FIFA coordinated the collection of betting-monitoring reports and integrity data submitted by members of the Integrity Task Force, alongside information received through its reporting mechanisms.
The information was analysed continuously and shared among participating organisations in accordance with established operational procedures. This collaborative approach enabled the task force to assess potential risks quickly and coordinate responses whenever necessary.
According to FIFA, the integrated monitoring system ensured that any alerts relating to suspicious betting patterns or potential match manipulation could be investigated promptly. The FIFA Integrity Task Force brought together a broad network of football governing bodies, law enforcement agencies, international organisations, betting integrity specialists, and independent experts.
Members included FIFA’s six continental confederations as well as the football associations of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The task force also included representatives from international organisations and law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Council of Europe, and the Group of Copenhagen.
Integrity monitoring partners including Sportradar, the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), IC360, and Genius Sports also contributed specialist expertise throughout the tournament.
Commenting on the successful operation, Liam Rich, FIFA’s Senior Integrity Manager, said the task force played a vital role in protecting the integrity of the competition through intelligence sharing and coordinated action.
“The FIFA Integrity Task Force provided a strong framework during the FIFA World Cup 2026 for sharing intelligence, assessing potential concerns and coordinating a timely response. We thank all Task Force members for their expertise and commitment during the competition and we look forward to building on this collaboration at future FIFA tournaments.”
FIFA confirmed that it will continue working with members of the Integrity Task Force to safeguard future competitions, including its youth tournaments later this year and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™.
The governing body also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its global integrity strategy in partnership with football confederations, member associations, regulators, and integrity organisations as part of the ongoing fight against match manipulation.
By maintaining close cooperation with international stakeholders and leveraging real-time monitoring technologies, FIFA aims to preserve the credibility of its competitions and protect the integrity of football worldwide.
