Five African Markets Top Blask’s August Growth Rankings

Five African Markets Top Blask's August Growth Rankings

The five countries with the fastest month-on-month iGaming demand growth in August 2026 were all in Africa.

August rankings in Blask Index — Blask’s search-based demand indicator — put Sierra Leone, the Republic of the Congo, Niger, Guinea and South Sudan in the first five places. African countries then took the next thirteen slots as well. Haiti, in 19th, was the first market outside the continent.

Three of those five leaders were bouncing off a weak July. Congo, Guinea and South Sudan each lost more than 13% month on month before August; Sierra Leone and Niger were already flat to slightly up, then accelerated.

Onshore in Congo and Sierra Leone, offshore in Guinea and South Sudan

Licence splits inside the same five pull in opposite directions. Sierra Leone and Congo booked more than 98% of August demand as onshore. Guinea and South Sudan registered 100% offshore. Niger sat in between, with 90.2% of demand coming from offshore brands.

South Sudan’s rebound also looks like a bounce rather than a new trend: Blask Index was up only 0.32% year on year.

One brand leads each market — the share is not the same

Each of the five has a clear No.1, but the leader’s grip ranges from a near-monopoly to a contested first place.

Sierra Leone is a two-horse race: Elephant Bet sits just behind the leader. Niger’s top slot is still open, with 1xBet and BetKing close enough to contest it. Congo Bet is the other extreme — and August market avg CEB, Blask’s projected-revenue benchmark, reached $5.94M, $5.12M of it on that one brand.

August’s country table is African from top to bottom, split between onshore local champions and fully offshore demand, and several of the leaders had just come off a July drop.
