GamblePause Initiative Africa (Nigeria) and the Namibia Development Foundation Trust (NAMDEF) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at advancing responsible gaming initiatives across Africa through advocacy, research, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based player protection programs.

The partnership brings together two organizations committed to promoting safer gambling practices and addressing the social impacts associated with gambling across the continent. By leveraging their respective expertise and regional networks, GamblePause Initiative Africa and NAMDEF will collaborate to foster a more sustainable and responsible gaming environment.

The collaboration is led by Ladipo Abiose A., Founder of GamblePause Initiative Africa, and Dr. Jeremia (Jerry) Lucas Muadinohamba, Founding Member of NAMDEF. Together, they share a common vision of strengthening responsible gaming through prevention, education, early intervention, and public awareness initiatives.

As part of the partnership, the organizations will work closely with regulators, gaming operators, policymakers, researchers, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to develop and promote responsible gaming frameworks that prioritize player protection and informed participation.

The partnership will also focus on supporting evidence-based research, enhancing institutional capacity, facilitating knowledge sharing, and encouraging cross-border collaboration to address emerging responsible gaming challenges across Africa.

Speaking on the partnership, the organizations reaffirmed their commitment to creating a gaming ecosystem where entertainment is balanced with player welfare, emphasizing that responsible gaming is a shared responsibility requiring cooperation among governments, regulators, operators, and civil society.

Through this collaboration, GamblePause Initiative Africa and NAMDEF aim to contribute to the development of stronger responsible gaming policies and programs that protect vulnerable individuals while supporting the sustainable growth of Africa’s gaming industry.
