Gambling Authority, ARJH recently organized a ceremony in Akouédo Attié to destroy 110 illegal physical slot machines, along with 84 boxes and 13 bags of various electrical and electronic components. This event was attended by administrative, judicial, and traditional authorities, marking a significant step in the ongoing fight against illegal gambling.

Following a similar initiative in Bouaflé, the ARJH collaborated with the Economic and Financial Criminal Unit (PPEF), represented by Deputy Prosecutor Mr. Joël N’DAKON, and the Criminal Asset Recovery Agency (AGRAC), represented by Deputy Director General Mr. Bourahima OUATTARA. The Sub-Prefect of Bingerville, Kapié KONE, who represented the Prefect of Abidjan, welcomed this decisive action.

During the ceremony, Jules DALLY, Chairman of the Regulatory Council, highlighted the harmful effects of illegal gambling and praised President Alassane OUATTARA for establishing the ARJH. He reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to combat all lawbreakers in the gaming sector.

Kouakou Hyacinthe OKOU, Director General of the ARJH, noted that the message of awareness has resonated with the authorities. He announced plans for a tour focused on exchanges and information for the judiciary, as well as an annual conference on games of chance with operators. These conferences aim to create a formal framework for dialogue with stakeholders, seeking lasting solutions to the challenges in the sector.

As a reminder, according to Article 10 of Law No. 2020-480 of May 27, 2020, the operation of slot machines on physical media requires prior authorization from the ARJH
