The Gambling Board of Namibia (GBN) has announced a consultation workshop for applicants seeking Bookmaker and Totalizator licenses in Namibia as the regulator continues its licensing process under the Gaming and Entertainment Control Act, 2018 (Act No. 13 of 2018).

The workshop is intended to give applicants a clearer understanding of the licensing requirements, regulatory procedures, and compliance obligations applicable to gambling operators in Namibia. Key stakeholders involved in regulating, and gambling activities will also participate, offering guidance on the compliance requirements that applicants must meet before they begin operations.

A major focus of the consultation will be the roll-out plan for the investigation of license applications and the technical compliance assessments of proposed wagering and betting platforms. Applicants will have the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and provide comments or input on the licensing requirements and the implementation process.

This consultation is part of the GBN’s broader efforts to support the establishment of compliant bookmaker and totalizator operations in Namibia’s gambling market. The engagement is expected to help applicants better understand the regulatory and technical standards required for licensing and continued operations.

The GBN Consultation Workshop will take place on 15 October 2026 at the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM), Paul Nash Street, Olympia, Windhoek, from 09:00 to 16:00.

The programme and supporting materials will be published on the GBN website from the date of the announcement. Applicants can also collect the materials from the GBN offices at No. 8 Simeon Shixungileni Street, Windhoek, Namibia.
