ISJ Advances National Gaming Regulation Strategy in Angola

ISJ Localized Oversight in Angola

As part of its strategy of expansion and consolidation of activities at the national level, the Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) carried out a working visit to the city of Mbanza Congo, in Zaire Province. The delegation was led by the Director General of the ISJ, Dr. Nerethz Faria Coelho da Cruz Tati, who was received in audience by the Governor of the Province of Zaire, Dr. Adriano Mendes de Carvalho.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the security agencies, reflecting the institutional importance of the mission and the coordination between relevant public bodies. During the meeting, the ISJ formally presented the regional team that will ensure the implementation of the Institute’s activities in the province.

This team will be responsible for strengthening the supervision and regulation of the sector at local level, ensuring closer monitoring of gaming activities, and reinforcing compliance with the applicable legal framework. On the occasion, the strategic purpose of this territorial expansion was also shared, emphasizing the ISJ’s commitment to strengthening supervision and regulation of the gaming sector, improving oversight and control mechanisms, and promoting transparency and compliance with legal standards.

The initiative is further aimed at bringing the institution closer to operators, players, and other local stakeholders, thereby encouraging responsible gaming practices and contributing to a safer, more structured, and better-regulated environment in the sector. The ISJ highlighted that this initiative forms part of its continuous effort to strengthen institutional proximity and operational effectiveness, ensuring that its presence at provincial level translates into more efficient regulation and improved sector governance.

The Institute further reiterated its commitment to supporting sustainable development of gaming activities in Angola through enhanced oversight, prevention of irregular practices, and promotion of integrity within the sector. In turn, the Governor of Zaire Province, Dr. Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, expressed total openness and availability to support the ISJ in the fulfillment of its mission.

He recognized the importance of the institution’s presence in the province as a key factor in strengthening organization, supervision, and control of gaming activities, as well as in ensuring greater regulatory compliance. With this initiative, the ISJ reaffirms its commitment to closer, more efficient, and decentralized operations, aligned with the challenges of the sector, and continues to actively contribute to the sustainable and regulated development of gaming activity in Angola.
