The Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ), in coordination with the Municipal Administration of Samba, carried out an awareness and prevention action against illegal gambling on August 14, targeting merchants and citizens at the Mabunda Market, in the Municipality of Samba.
The initiative was aimed at raising awareness among merchants and members of the public about the risks associated with the illegal practice and exploitation of gambling, as well as the legal and social consequences arising from activities conducted outside the established regulatory framework.
The awareness campaign was led by the Deputy Director-General of the ISJ, Cláudio Paulo, with the support of the Head of the Department of Supervision and Inspection, Afonso Hermenegildo da Silva. During the activity, the officials emphasized the importance of complying with applicable legislation and highlighted the obligation to obtain prior licensing before engaging in gaming activities.
As part of the awareness and prevention action, information leaflets and posters containing messages on prevention and the promotion of responsible gambling were distributed to merchants and citizens at the Mabunda Market.
The materials were intended to provide the public with practical information on the dangers of illegal gambling, the importance of responsible participation, and the need to comply with the legal requirements governing the gaming sector.
The initiative forms part of the ISJ’s broader supervision, inspection and prevention actions aimed at promoting a safe, responsible and properly regulated gaming sector. These efforts also seek to protect citizens from the potential risks associated with illegal gambling, with particular attention to the protection of the most vulnerable groups.
Through this action at the Mabunda Market, the ISJ reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening awareness, supervision and prevention efforts against illegal gambling throughout the national territory. The Institute also emphasized the importance of promoting respect for the law and encouraging citizens to play an active role in preventing and combating illegal gambling activities.
The ISJ reiterated that compliance with the applicable legislation, obtaining the necessary prior licensing and promoting responsible gambling are essential to ensuring a safer, more transparent and properly regulated gaming sector.
