The Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) participated in the Gaming Regulators Africa Forum (GRAF) 2026, held from 14 to 17 September in Maputo, Mozambique.

The ISJ delegation was led by Dr. Nerethz Tati, Director General, and included Ricarda de Carvalho, Senior Technician from the Litigation Department. Ms. de Carvalho represented the Institute during the technical sessions and in the exchanges with other participants.

During the forum, strategic topics for the future of gaming across the African continent were addressed, with particular focus on illegal online gaming, consumer protection, responsible gaming, and the use of monitoring and supervision technologies.

For the ISJ Director General, the discussions at GRAF were particularly valuable because they enabled the Institute to learn from other African markets and to understand the different approaches regulators use to respond to challenges brought by the growth of online gaming and the increasing digitalization of the sector.

In addition to the technical sessions, the forum provided an opportunity to further strengthen institutional relationships among African regulators, including through the sharing of experiences related to legislation, enforcement mechanisms, measures to combat illegal activity, and player protection.

With this participation, the ISJ reaffirms its commitment to international cooperation, the exchange of best practices, and the monitoring of regulatory and technological trends in the sector contributing to the development of an increasingly effective and responsible system of supervision aligned with today’s gaming industry challenges.
