KGL Group of Companies has officially remitted GHC 153 million in corporate income tax to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The payment was finalized during a high-profile tax compliance ceremony at the GRA Head Office in Accra, marking a significant milestone for indigenous corporate leadership. This substantial contribution underscores the Group’s position that tax compliance is a shared responsibility in building a resilient and sustainable national economy.
During the presentation, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Alex Apau Dadey, reinforced the organization’s stance that tax compliance is a vital pillar of business integrity. He emphasized that the Group views paying taxes not as a statutory burden, but as a deliberate act of giving back to the community that facilitates their commercial success.
The Group’s financial commitment to the state has been exceptionally robust, with total direct payments amounting to GHS 350 million in 2025 alone. This figure includes a GHS 180 million remittance to the National Lottery Authority (NLA), showcasing a consistent and diversified contribution to the national treasury.
Mr. Dadey noted that these contributions serve as a testament to the discipline and capability of Ghanaian-owned businesses to drive the national development agenda. He remarked that local companies possess the necessary integrity and capability to remain competitive on an international scale while supporting domestic growth.
Furthermore, the Group expressed its alignment with President John Dramani Mahama’s advocacy for local ownership. KGL Group supports a strategic transition from simple transactional business models to transformational partnerships that foster a self-reliant and robust national economy.
Beyond its financial obligations to the GRA, KGL Group remains a major player in social development through the KGL Foundation. The Group has committed over GHS 40 million to various community projects and national initiatives, including the sponsorship of the senior national football team, the Black Stars, and the Regional U-17 Colts Championship.
Additional investments include critical infrastructure projects such as the KGL–EVE Medical Centre in Kumasi and the Alex Dadey University of Ghana Alumni Centre, demonstrating a holistic approach to corporate citizenship. The ceremony was facilitated by Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya, who commended KGL Group for its exemplary compliance and transparency.
He highlighted that such significant contributions from indigenous firms are essential for strengthening domestic revenue mobilization and enabling the government to deliver on its primary development priorities. Through these sustained efforts, KGL Group continues to position itself as a leader in corporate responsibility, proving that profit and national duty can work in harmony to build a stronger Ghanaian economy.
