On February 12, 2026, the General Manager of LONACI and President of the African Lotteries Association (ALA), Mr. Dramane Coulibaly, officially received two major international certifications. The ceremony took place during a press lunch at the LONACI Studios, marking a milestone in the institution’s 55-year history.
These distinctions, which include the World Lottery Association (WLA) Responsible Gaming Level 3 and the renewal of ISO 9001:2015, confirm the organization’s commitment to global excellence and ethical standards.
Achieving Level 3 in the WLA Responsible Gaming Framework signifies a move from basic commitment to active implementation. This certification requires lotteries to allocate specific resources toward player protection and to formalize their ethical programs.
For LONACI, this level of certification reflects a structured approach to preventing excessive gambling and protecting vulnerable groups. Mr. Coulibaly noted that this achievement is not a final destination but a step toward the ultimate Level 4 certification, which the institution aims to reach in the coming years.
The renewal of the ISO 9001:2015 certification for the third consecutive time reinforces LONACI’s reputation for rigorous internal management. This standard ensures that the institution’s processes are consistently aligned with international requirements for quality and continuous improvement.
The audit, conducted by the independent cabinet Certi-Trust, evaluated LONACI’s ability to maintain high performance while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. By managing these complex processes internally without external consultants, the institution demonstrated the deep professional expertise of its own teams.
These certifications are supported by strong financial and social performance. In 2025, LONACI recorded a net profit of 12.6 billion FCFA, demonstrating that ethical governance and economic growth can go hand in hand. To balance this commercial success, the LONACI Foundation has increased its 2026 budget by more than 1 billion FCFA.
This funding will support social infrastructure, healthcare, and education across Côte d’Ivoire. The institution’s clear vision focuses on strengthening governance and permanently establishing LONACI as a benchmark for the lottery industry across the African continent.
