National Lottery Authority (NLA Ghana) Director General, Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Salam has received a prestigious Gold Award at the 8th Ghana Business Leaders Excellence Awards.
These awards, organized by Top Brass Ghana, celebrate individuals, corporate institutions, and entrepreneurs whose exceptional leadership has significantly contributed to the nation’s economic growth and development.
The awards ceremony coincided with Ghana’s 65th Anniversary of Republican Status, under the theme “National Development through Dynamic Business Leadership.” Over 25 leaders and organizations from various industries were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the event.
Among the distinguished honorees was Mr. Abdul-Salam, who received the Gold Award for his remarkable contributions to Ghana’s economic development in the category of National Revenue Mobilization (Lottery).
Additionally, he was recognized for his recent election as Vice-President of the African Lotteries Association (ALA).
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Abdul-Salam expressed gratitude to the organizers and emphasized that this achievement reflects the collective effort and dedication of the NLA’s management and staff.
He announced plans for reforms aimed at enhancing operations and increasing revenue for national development.
“While providing opportunities for patrons to play and win, the Authority is committed to supporting the needy and vulnerable through its Good Causes Foundation, focusing on Health, Education, Youth and Sports Development, and Arts and Culture, as mandated by the NLA’s National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722),” he stated.
Other notable awardees included:
- The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Ltd. for the manufacturing sector
- Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank Plc for the rural banking sector
- Azmera Restaurant and Jofel Catering Services for catering and hospitality
- Robert and Sons Ghana Ltd. among others
Mr. Stephane Miezan, President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who chaired the event, congratulated all the awardees.
He urged them to develop innovative solutions that would foster entrepreneurship and drive business growth, enabling Ghana to compete globally.
