The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has intensified its nationwide enforcement campaign, confiscating 77 unlicensed gaming machines during coordinated operations conducted across the districts of Lyantonde, Sheema, Isingiro, Ibanda, Mbarara, Rukungiri, and Ntungamo.
The operation underscores the Board’s commitment to ensuring that gaming regulation is not a one-time exercise, but a sustained nationwide effort to make compliance the norm rather than the exception. By expanding its enforcement footprint across the country, the Board continues to ensure that gaming activities operate within the law and in accordance with established regulatory standards.
The same standards of player protection that apply in the capital are equally owed to players in every district. Through consistent enforcement, the Board is working to create a level playing field where all operators are held to the same regulatory requirements.
The Board emphasized that unlicensed gaming machines represent more than administrative non-compliance. Operating outside the regulatory framework means they lack the safeguards designed to protect players and the accountability mechanisms that underpin a fair, transparent, and responsible gaming industry.
