This Mandela Day, two families from communities surrounding Sun City Resort received the keys to homes they can now call their own.

Delivered through Sun International Festival of Giving, the initiative brought together government, business, employees, and local community members, all working toward one shared purpose: creating lasting impact where it matters most.

The homes were built in partnership with the Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT) and the Department of Human Settlements, along with a network of valued partners. The project is designed to support families not only at the handover, but also in the longer term.

Each home includes environmentally sustainable features such as solar geysers, rainwater harvesting systems, and household food gardens. These elements help reduce household costs while supporting long-term resilience and self-sufficiency.
