PMU Mali has donated CFA50 million to Mali’s Ministry of Youth and Sports to support the organisation of the 2026 Sports Biennial. The contribution was handed over on Friday, August 7, 2026, as part of PMU Mali’s continued support for youth and sports development in the country.
The handover ceremony was attended by Annick KABA, Director of the PMU Mali Foundation, and Baye GUINDO, Marketing and Communication Director, alongside several PMU Mali employees. The delegation was received by Abdoul Kassim FOMBA, Minister of Youth and Sports, in charge of Civic Education and Citizen Construction.
Speaking on behalf of PMU Mali’s Director General, Fasséry DOUMBIA, KABA said the contribution reflects the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives of national interest. She added that PMU Mali aims to promote values such as solidarity, citizenship, excellence, and personal achievement through sport.
KABA also announced that PMU Mali and the Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) are expected to sign a partnership agreement in the coming days. The planned agreement would further strengthen PMU Mali’s involvement in the development of football and other sporting activities in Mali.
Minister Abdoul Kassim FOMBA expressed his gratitude to PMU Mali for the financial contribution. He also thanked Director General Fasséry DOUMBIA for what he described as a gesture of strong patriotic significance in support of the 2026 Sports Biennial.
The minister praised PMU Mali’s continued involvement in the development of Malian sport. He highlighted the company’s support for the Malian Federation of Horse Riding and Equestrian Sports and the Malian Basketball Federation.
FOMBA also welcomed the planned partnership between PMU Mali and FEMAFOOT. PMU Mali said the CFA50 million contribution reflects its broader commitment to supporting public policies focused on youth and sport.
The company views sport as an important tool for promoting unity, social cohesion, and national development.
The financial support is expected to contribute to the successful organization of the 2026 Sports Biennial, one of the major events on Mali’s national sports calendar. The contribution further reinforces PMU Mali’s position as a corporate partner in Mali’s sports sector.
Under the leadership of Fasséry DOUMBIA, the company says it will continue supporting initiatives that promote young people, sporting excellence, and national development.
The planned partnership with FEMAFOOT could also expand PMU Mali’s contribution to Malian football and strengthen its wider involvement in the country’s sporting ecosystem.
