Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom, part of the Sun International group, transformed its 21st birthday celebration into an opportunity to give back to the community instead of receiving gifts. In a spirited effort, employees rallied together for the Sibaya Nutritional Food Sponsorship Drive, dedicating a full day across three packing sessions. They successfully packed 2,100 community care packs; all intended for donation to four local communities.

This generous initiative, which involved an investment of over R850,000, culminated in a handover on 15th December 2025. The beneficiary communities, Phoenix, Blackburn, Verulam, and Waterloo were carefully selected based on their proximity to Sibaya and the pressing needs of their residents. Each care pack included a variety of essential food and household items, ensuring that families received both staple foods and festive treat perfect for celebrating the holiday season.

Virath Gobrie, Sibaya’s General Manager, expressed his pride in the initiative: “Witnessing the impact of this distribution firsthand reminds us why community upliftment is so important. This sponsorship goes beyond just food, it represents care, connection, and our commitment to the people who live around us. As part of the birthday festivities, Sibaya also marked the occasion with an impressive giveaway event. Over R4 million worth of cash, cars, and prizes were awarded throughout December. The celebrations kicked off on 1 December, with 21 lucky winners each receiving R10,000 during the Birthday Draw. The excitement peaked on 5 December, when one fortunate winner walked away as an instant millionaire in a thrilling cash draw. These events not only highlight Sibaya’s commitment to community welfare but also reflect the vibrant spirit of Sun International in delivering exceptional entertainment and memorable experiences.
