The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and SportPesa have announced a significant 10-year sponsorship agreement worth Kshs. 1.12 billion for the FKF Premier League. This partnership will officially begin with the 2025/26 season.
During the announcement, FKF President Hussein Mohammed described the partnership as a major advancement for Kenyan football. “This marks a transformative chapter for the FKF Premier League. After a long period without consistent support from the private sector, today’s agreement with SportPesa signals a turning point,” he stated. “We thank SportPesa for believing in our vision and joining us on this journey. We look forward to delivering on the trust they’ve placed in us.” President Hussein also emphasized the Federation’s commitment to attracting more partners to help grow the local game at all levels.
Under the agreement, 60% of the sponsorship amount will be allocated directly to FKF Premier League clubs as grants. The remaining 40% will be used to support the administrative and operational needs of the league, ensuring its smooth operation and long-term sustainability.
SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting the growth of football in Kenya. “We are excited to return to Kenyan football and partner with FKF once again. We believe football in Kenya has great potential, and through this partnership, we want to be part of the journey to restore the game to its rightful place,” Karauri said. “We are confident that with collaboration and shared effort, we will rebuild and strengthen our league, our clubs, and our talent.”
This long-term sponsorship is expected to enhance the commercial value and competitiveness of the FKF Premier League, bringing positive impacts to players, clubs, and fans across the country.
