South Africa sportsbook, Supabets has expanded its digital payment options by introducing cryptocurrency deposits through a new partnership with payment technology provider EnterPay.
Announced on August 11, the partnership allows Supabets customers to fund their betting accounts using popular cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
The move gives customers another way to deposit funds as betting operators continue to explore faster and more flexible digital payment solutions.
Supabets said its integration with EnterPay is designed to provide customers with secure and convenient payment options. The cryptocurrency deposit service also gives users more choice when funding their online betting accounts.
Under Supabets’ cryptocurrency payment terms, EnterPay facilitates the transaction process.
Customers select their preferred cryptocurrency and transfer the required amount to a wallet address generated for the transaction.
Supabets has highlighted the importance of using the correct cryptocurrency and blockchain network.
A deposit can only be processed successfully if customers send the correct cryptocurrency to the compatible network and wallet address provided for the transaction.
Users are therefore required to check their payment details carefully before confirming a transfer.
The value of a cryptocurrency deposit is calculated using the applicable exchange rate at the time of the transaction. Any relevant conversion charges are displayed before customers complete the payment.
Once the transaction is submitted, funds are credited to the customer’s betting account after the required number of blockchain confirmations has been received.
This process allows the transaction to be verified on the relevant blockchain before the funds are made available.
Supabets has also warned customers that cryptocurrency transactions differ from conventional payment methods. Once a crypto transaction has been confirmed, it cannot be reversed. Customers must therefore verify all transaction details before sending funds. This includes checking:
- The wallet address.
- The cryptocurrency being used.
- The blockchain network.
- The amount being transferred.
Using incorrect details could result in the transaction failing or funds being sent to an incorrect address.
The cryptocurrency payment service operates within South Africa’s existing regulatory environment. Cryptocurrency assets and gambling are subject to separate regulatory frameworks in the country.
Crypto assets fall under financial-product regulation, while online betting remains subject to applicable gambling licences and compliance requirements.
Supabets said cryptocurrency conversion, settlement, and compliance functions are handled by licensed third-party service providers.
Supabets is licensed by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator, with its online betting operations conducted in accordance with South African law. The addition of cryptocurrency deposits does not change the operator’s existing gambling licensing obligations.
Instead, the partnership with EnterPay adds another payment channel while maintaining the regulatory requirements that apply to the sportsbook.
The partnership reflects the continued development of payment infrastructure in South Africa’s betting market.
As digital financial technologies become more widely adopted, betting operators are exploring new ways to give customers greater payment flexibility.
Supabets’ cryptocurrency integration with EnterPay provides another example of how sportsbooks are expanding digital payment options while seeking to maintain security, compliance, and customer protection.
