The Women in Gaming Association officially launch in East Africa, marking a significant step toward advancing inclusion and empowering female professionals across the region’s iGaming industry. The launch is sponsored by Ocean Gaming Consult Ltd, a leading iGaming consulting firm operating across Africa and international markets.
Built on the guiding principle “Identify, Mentor, Empower,” the association aims to create meaningful opportunities for women through professional development, mentorship, and increased visibility within the broader iGaming ecosystem.
As part of its mandate, the association will collaborate with B2C operators and performance teams to identify top-performing female talent and facilitate their participation in key iGaming events. This initiative is designed to enhance networking opportunities and strengthen industry exposure for women across the sector.
In addition, the association plans to host in-person discussion forums at workplaces and other venues, providing safe and supportive spaces for women to share professional experiences, address challenges, and exchange insights.
The initiative will officially kick off with participation in an upcoming women’s poker tournament in Nairobi later this year, where members will engage, network, and celebrate alongside other participants. A strong focus will also be placed on peer mentorship and leadership development, with the objective of supporting career progression and positioning more women for long-term success within the iGaming industry.
The founding team comprises Emily Asava, Borah Omary, Maureen Adhiambo, Lola Okulo, Cynthia Onyango, Cyuzuzo Aimee Pacifique, and Mary Macharia—professionals committed to driving impact and fostering a more inclusive industry landscape. The launch reflects a broader movement toward strengthening diversity, inclusion, and representation within the iGaming sector across East Africa.
