The Authority for the Regulation of the Sports and Assimilated Practices Sector (ARSJPA) of Guinea has sought to learn from the regulatory expertise and industry practices of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Lottery, LONACI, during a study visit held from 5 to 9 October 2026.
The visit aimed to strengthen the Guinean authority’s understanding of gambling regulation, operator supervision and responsible gaming practices, drawing on LONACI’s experience in overseeing activities within the sports betting and lottery sectors.
During a meeting at LONACI’s headquarters in Marcory on Wednesday, 7 October, Souleymane Savané, Deputy Director General of the ARSJPA, acknowledged the Ivorian lottery operator’s experience and expertise in regulation and the development of good practices within the sports sector.
Discussions brought together representatives of LONACI’s Autonomous Department of Legal Affairs and Legal Compliance (DAJC), Sales and Network Management Department (DVGR), and Marketing and Customer Experience Department (DMEC).
Key areas of discussion included the supervision of gambling operators, regulatory compliance, gambling addiction prevention, responsible gaming and measures to combat money laundering.
The engagement, organized on behalf of LONACI Director General Dramane Coulibaly, reflected the institution’s commitment to sharing its experience and supporting efforts to strengthen regulatory standards across the sub-region.
The exchange also highlighted the importance of cooperation between gambling-sector institutions in promoting effective governance, regulatory compliance and responsible gaming practices amid evolving industry demands.
Through engagements of this nature, LONACI continues to contribute to knowledge-sharing and the development of stronger regulatory approaches within the West African gambling industry.
