Bolabet Group has expanded its WhatsApp-based sports betting service, BolaChat, to Zimbabwe, four months after introducing the product in Zambia.

Powered by WhatsApp, BolaChat enables customers to access sports betting services through instant messaging, allowing them to request odds and place bets using text messages or voice notes without downloading a dedicated application or accessing a traditional betting platform.

The platform is designed to simplify access to sports betting by leveraging WhatsApp’s widespread adoption, particularly in markets where mobile data costs and digital accessibility influence consumer behavior.

At the product’s initial launch, Bolabet Group Chief Executive Officer Hilton Hasson highlighted the role of WhatsApp’s popularity, mobile data affordability and the need for greater digital inclusion in shaping the development of BolaChat.

The expansion into Zimbabwe marks another step in Bolabet Group’s efforts to extend its digital betting offering across its markets through accessible and locally relevant solutions.

With its messaging-based approach, BolaChat offers an alternative way for customers to interact with sports betting services, using a familiar communication platform to request odds and place wagers.

The Zimbabwe launch builds on the product’s introduction in Zambia and reflects the group’s continued focus on digital innovation within the sports betting sector.
