The Gambling Authority Botswana participated in the Walala Wasala Charity Cup, organized by Bet267, using the community sporting event as a platform to promote responsible gambling while celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and community engagement.
During the event, the Authority engaged with attendees to raise awareness about responsible gambling, encouraging members of the public to make informed decisions and adopt healthy gambling habits. The initiative forms part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public education and promote safer gambling practices across Botswana.
The event was attended by the Assistant Minister of Health, Hon. Lawrence Ookeditse, whose presence underscored the importance of collaborative partnerships in advancing community well-being and public awareness initiatives.
The Gambling Authority commended Bet267 for organizing the tournament and creating an opportunity to combine sport, charitable giving, and responsible gambling advocacy. Orapa United emerged as champions of the Walala Wasala Charity Cup, lifting the tournament trophy after a successful campaign.
