GBfoods Ghana has held the grand prize awards ceremony for its Akyedee Sokoo promotion, a nationwide National Consumer Promotion (NCP) featuring its flagship brands, Gino and Pomo. The promotion rewarded more than two million consumers with airtime and electrical appliances, while five ultimate winners received fully paid trips to their dream destinations. One grand prize winner also took home a brand-new Geely Coolray SUV.

Launched with bi-weekly draws, the promotion attracted more than 12 million entries from Gino and Pomo consumers across Ghana. It concluded with a grand draw conducted under the supervision of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) a few weeks ago. The awards ceremony marked the culmination of the promotion, bringing together the six grand prize winners, trade and media partners, and GBfoods Ghana staff to celebrate consumer loyalty and reward participation.

“We are indeed excited for our consumers being rewarded with household essentials and contributing in our small way to enhancing the quality of life while celebrating local flavours,” said Ewuraba Adusei, Marketing Director of GBfoods Ghana.

Throughout the promotion, Akyɛdeɛ Sokoo rewarded consumers with more than 100 household appliances, including television sets, gas cookers, chest freezers, microwaves and cookware sets. Consumers also received instant airtime rewards worth a total of GH¢2.5 million, adding to the excitement of the campaign. Noah Akellasoore Adintoghe, Senior Category Manager at GBfoods Ghana, said the promotion was designed to reward consumers at different levels.

“From gas cookers to airtime to a brand-new Geely Coolray, we set out to reward Ghanaians at every stage of this promotion. Seeing our winners’ reactions today is the best part of this journey,” he said.

For the ultimate winner, Paul Nyame, winning the SUV came as an unexpected surprise.

“Winning this SUV still doesn’t feel real to me,” he said. “I only entered the promotion twice and did not believe my luck when the call came through from GBfoods. To every Ghanaian household still cooking with these brands, keep buying, because you never know when it’s your turn.”

GBfoods Ghana thanked consumers for their continued support and loyalty to its brands throughout the promotion. The company’s portfolio includes Gino Tomato Mix, Gino Jollof Tomato Mix, Gino Pepper & Onion Tomato Mix, Gino Curry Powder, Gino Hot Pepper Powder, Pomo Tomato Mix, Briskfarm Tomato Mix, Didi Shito and Jago Mayonnaise. GBfoods Ghana said its products provide consumers with a range of options for everyday cooking while celebrating the rich and diverse flavours of Ghanaian cuisine.
