As part of celebrations marking its 55th anniversary, LONACI – The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire organized an exchange ceremony with media professionals at its Studios-LONACI in Biétry under the theme: “55 years of history with an engaged and responsible press.”
The event was chaired by Mr. Abdoulkarim Ouattara, Deputy General Manager of LONACI, and brought together key figures from Côte d’Ivoire’s media landscape. Attendees included representatives of media regulation institutions, directors-general of television channels, journalists, winners of the Super Ebony Prize, beneficiaries of the LONACI Foundation’s Social Challenge initiative, and Mr. Guédé Marc Sakoa, Executive Director of the LONACI Foundation.
Representing Mr. Dramane Coulibaly, General Manager of LONACI, Mr. Ouattara highlighted the vital role the media has played in strengthening the institution’s credibility and public image since its establishment in 1970. He praised journalists and media organizations for their continued commitment to responsible, accurate, and professional reporting over the decades.
According to LONACI, the press has remained an important partner in communicating the company’s activities, promoting transparency, and supporting awareness around its social responsibility initiatives. The institution also reaffirmed its appreciation for the role of the media in informing and educating the Ivorian public.
The exchange ceremony formed part of LONACI’s broader efforts to strengthen collaboration with media stakeholders and reinforce long-standing partnerships built on trust and mutual respect. Discussions during the event also focused on the evolving media environment, responsible communication, and the importance of maintaining ethical standards in journalism.
Over the years, LONACI has expanded beyond lottery operations to support various social and community development projects through the LONACI Foundation, particularly in the areas of health, education, and social welfare.
