Promoting responsible gambling starts with informed choices, and the National Gambling Board (NGB) continues to strengthen community awareness around the importance of responsible gambling.

As part of its community outreach efforts, the NGB engaged with the Phillipi community at the Ithemba Labantu Community Center in the Western Cape, where residents received information on responsible gambling, understanding the potential risks associated with gambling, and recognizing when it is time to stop.

The engagement also highlighted the importance of approaching gambling as a form of entertainment rather than a means of generating income. Community members were encouraged to understand their limits and make informed decisions before and during gambling activities.

By taking responsible gambling awareness directly into communities, the NGB aims to encourage open conversations about gambling-related risks and promote a culture where individuals are better equipped to make informed and responsible choices.
