Markets are more than trading centers; they are important spaces for community interaction, dialogue and social change. Recognizing their role in reaching people at the grassroots, the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has taken its Responsible Gaming awareness campaign to communities in Mbarara, Western Uganda.

As part of the engagement, the NLGRB Responsible Gaming team is interacting directly with community members to raise awareness about responsible participation in gaming, its potential adverse effects, and the support services available through the Board.

The outreach is also providing an opportunity for the team to listen to community concerns and gather perspectives on practical approaches to preventing and reducing gaming-related harm, particularly among vulnerable groups.

Through these conversations, the NLGRB is emphasizing the importance of informed decision-making and responsible gaming practices, while encouraging communities to play an active role in promoting safer gaming environments.

The Board believes that sustainable progress in responsible gaming requires collaboration among regulators, communities, industry stakeholders and other relevant partners.

By taking responsible gaming conversations directly to communities, the NLGRB continues to strengthen public awareness and promote a culture that prioritizes well-being and protection from gaming-related harm.
