The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has informed the public that ITHUBA Uganda Limited, the National Lottery Operator, ceased operations in Uganda effective 1st July 2026.

The announcement, issued under Section 4(j) of the Lotteries and Gaming Act, Cap. 334, states that the NLGRB is managing the cessation of National Lottery operations by ITHUBA Uganda Limited under its statutory and regulatory mandate and in accordance with the applicable license and concession framework.

The Board noted that it will oversee the transition process to ensure compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements and the orderly management of the cessation in line with Uganda’s gaming laws. The move is intended to safeguard the interests of stakeholders while maintaining regulatory oversight of the National Lottery sector.

Players with outstanding claims or balances are advised to contact ITHUBA Uganda Limited through its official communication channels by calling 0800334433 or sending an email to info@nationallottery.go.ug, while the NLGRB continues to monitor compliance and the settlement of valid claims and obligations. The Board will issue further public guidance as necessary.

The public notice underscores the regulator’s commitment to ensuring that all valid claims and outstanding obligations are addressed during the cessation process. The NLGRB also indicated that additional updates and guidance will be provided as the transition progresses to keep players and other stakeholders informed.
